WEWELSBURG / CRITICAL RECONSTRUCTION LAB

Research note

1941 is not 1944.

The publication preserves the 1941 and 1944 planning layers separately. The 1941 layer contains a 430 m enclosure, eighteen towers, a 635 m future-village road, three radial roads and an approximately 2 km monumental approach.

The 1944 final layer uses a 450 m enclosure, 680 m outer road and 15–18 m wall-height range, while gates and major masses are explicitly marked as model/photo constrained where exact survey geometry is unavailable.

The two layers should not be collapsed into a single fictional masterplan.
