WEWELSBURG / CRITICAL RECONSTRUCTION LAB

Research note

Castle v2: constrained architectural reconstruction.

The surviving-castle layer preserves the three historical tower anchors. The North Tower is represented with a broad flat crowned termination and twenty-eight merlons rather than a conical roof. The southern towers use curved Welsche-Haube profiles.

Wings, pitched roofs, recessed windows, courtyard portal, the 1604 oriel, Burggraben and east bridge are named by evidence class so that the viewer can distinguish stronger and weaker claims.
